Competition overview
Orange County Sustainability Decathlon is an inaugural competition involving 18 university teams to design and build a fully sustainable house that addresses climate change and California’s housing needs.
Involvement & Contributions
I secured WB Property as a project sponsor, resulting in over $8,000 in savings on furniture rentals for the team. The furniture was carefully selected to match the architect’s vision for the house, which had a modular design and a non-standard layout. Following sustainability practices from the film industry, all furniture and props were rented from a prop house and returned after use, avoiding unnecessary waste. I also coordinated a team of four for pickup and drop-off and managed the paperwork for the rentals and a 4-ton truck that was used to transport the furniture. The house was furnished in less than two days and struck down in under eight hours.
